On Sunday I posted about my ever-expanding sweatshirt collection and I briefly mentioned that jacket’s are my second obsession. Well today I’m going to chat to you about the many, many jackets and coats hanging in my wardrobe which act as the perfect cover-ups over those sweatshirts! Where most gals would choose to throw on a cardi over that pretty new top they just bought, I prefer to skip a layer and go straight in for the jacket. Cardigans have never really been my jam and it’s likely that’s where my love for a good old sweatshirt comes in too. You’ve seen most – if not all – of my bombers here on the blog (just type in bomber jacket in the search bar on the right and it’s sure to bring up approximately 50 thousand results) but this time I’m bringing you a jacket which is the perfect transitional piece from winter to spring – the grey aviator.
OK, so I know we’re still deep in winter at the moment, but I’m dreaming of warmer spring weather right now so don’t judge me.
I think the thing I love about this shearling aviator jacket as a transitional piece is its colour. We drown ourselves in dark colours throughout the winter months, and there’s nothing like seeing something light and bright to get you in the mood for spring. A pale grey shade is ideal for easing you from season to season because while it’s a familiar neutral, it has something fresh about it without being full on daffodil yellow.
I bought mine a couple of years ago (from Tu at Sainsbury’s if you can believe it!?) but I’ve linked some similar ones below so you can get in on the transitional jacket action if you’re itching for spring like me!
Are you a jacket-lover or a cardigan-wearer? Let me know in the comments! xx Sophie
