Sweatshirt Skirt | Ultimate Off-Duty Style

Wearing a grey sweatshirt skirt

It’s been a long time now that I’ve been wearing sweatshirts as if my life depends on it. Since probably 2013 to be precise, which is when I started reading Andy Torres’ blog ‘StyleScrapbook’. Seeing her blog about her Kenzo sweatshirt was enough to get me hooked, and now there’s really no going back. So what do you do when you have an obsession with a particular type of clothing? You find other alternative ways you can wear it too. Like a sweatshirt in the form of a skirt, of course. To be honest, I hadn’t ever actually thought of doing this until I was browsing the GLDN website and came across this beauty. Not only is it a sweatshirt skirt, but it’s also a wrap skirt and what’s not to love about that? It’s so comfortable, and yet still structured, making it a piece you could wear both as a casual look or dressed up for a day at the office. Obvs casual is my thang so that’s how I’m styling it for you today!

For me, this look is all about off-duty weekend-vibe style. Whether you’re in shirt and tie all week or skinny jeans like me, this is the ultimate outfit for comfort. I mean, an oversized long sleeve tee tucked into a skirt made of sweatshirt material – it doesn’t get much better for Saturday style. Alternatively, why not try this skirt out with a sweatshirt on top too? I’m a fan of double denim, so I don’t see why you couldn’t go double sweatshirt if you wanted a complete off-duty look.
