How gorgeous is this skirt!? Keep reading to find out all about it, where to shop it, and how to style it!
When it comes to buying clothing, I never really go all out and splash the cash on individual items. Being a blogger means that I probably have more clothes than the average person, but it also means things can quickly get boring as you’re trying to keep up with the trends coming off the runways. I tend to lean towards affordable fashion because quite frankly, it’s cheap and it’s good. Occasionally a slightly more expensive piece comes along and I do invest, however. Let’s get things straight though and confirm that by invest I mean spend £40 on one item. Yeah, we’re not talking the big bucks here but on an ordinary day, I wouldn’t shell out £40 on a skirt, especially not from the high street.
There was just something about this yellow layered tulle mini skirt that made me gasp and grab hold of it quick. The material feels so good and I’m loving the lemon hue. So I ummed and ahhed about whether or not to buy this one but I had an online discount code and it was simply one of those items I couldn’t let go of. My new theory is that it’s OK to spend a bit more on certain items if they feel special. I think the skirt will stay in my wardrobe for the rest of time – it’s definitely not one for throwing out!
At the risk of looking like a bumble bee, I styled the skirt up with all black. There was a beautiful top to go with the skirt in H&M but both were from the Conscious Collection so I couldn’t justify forking out for both at the time. (It’s been payday since then so who knows now!) I actually think the black worked pretty well, and of course I incorporated the embroidery trend too because…well why not!?
