Before I went away on holiday, I thrifted this red gingham skater skirt. I styled it with my girl power t-shirt and embroidered loafers (read it here) and it was a very casual shoot. On holiday we had a much more dramatic backdrop to shoot with, so it required a look that was a bit more put together. And by put together I mean a top with fancy sleeves and some lace-up espadrilles. So not exactly dressed up, but then when am i ever?
This day was so windy and you can probably tell that from the state of my hair in the photographs! My one style tip slash lesson learned from this shoot? Don’t wear a skirt in windy conditions… Although it did make for some good movement shots alongside those sleeves. Just be careful you don’t end up flashing anyone down on the beach. #youwillthankmelater
I think the best part about this skirt is that it only cost a few pounds from a charity shop, and it’s a proper vintage find. Be careful you don’t end up camouflaged into the picnic blanket if you wear this on a day out in the english countryside but apart from that it’s allll good.
