Popper trousers. Hands up if you’ve seen the trend. Hands up if you liked the trend. Now hands up if you’d ever brave the trend yourself. I’m thinking not many people will have their hands up, and I was one of them until last week when these popper trousers came into my possession. *Side note – I’m calling them popper trousers but I don’t really know if this is the technical term for them. Feel free to correct me at any point if I’m wrong.* I always liked the trend and thought they were so quirky and cool, but me wear them? I don’t think so. Then I guess I saw them on the model on SheIn and decided that they were too cool for school and I had to give them a try.
There was two ways this look could’ve gone: heels and a tight top, or a cropped sweatshirt and trainers. You can guess which one I went for before you’ve even seen the rest of the pics, I’m sure. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to pull the look off. I mean, wide trousers and flat shoes on a short girl? It’s not normally advisable unless you want your legs to look even shorter than they actually are. Just to give you a hint on how small I am – these trousers are meant to be culottes… Yeah, I’m talking cropped, calf-length trousers. Well, for me these are just trousers and to be honest I’d prefer that to a culotte any day. No disrespect to any culotte-lovers out there, but just keepin’ it real.
Question. Is yellow an acceptable colour for autumn? I could’ve chosen this denim shirt in a classic khaki or neutral black, but I went and chose bright yellow. Don’t ask me why – I know summer’s well and truly over and this colour is very much sunshine and lollipops but I thought it was pretty cool. How wearable it is for autumn/winter? I guess we’ll find out.
