Is it just me or do you guys always forget to accessorise too? I don’t know what it is but it’s just a complete after-thought for me. I guess I’m always too busy putting together the main outfit that I never leave myself enough time to accessorise when I’m going out. And I wish it was something that I was better at. I mean, seriously, it only takes a few minutes to add some accessories, and they do say that accessories can really make an outfit. (I don’t know who says that, but I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that said before…) So when you think of accessorising an outfit, what do you think of? I’d probably say jewellery and a handbag. I wouldn’t have ever said socks – until today. I mean, surely socks are just whatever you pull out of the drawer and shove on under your boots, right? Unless, of course, your boots have great holes in them (purposefully, obvs) and then the socks you wear become a vital decision of the day.
Before, I probably would’ve said that I’d have to pop these boots back into the wardrobe until next Spring when I’d be able to brave the bare feet/cut-out boots situation again. Then I discovered that you can actually make socks work with these boots -especially fishnet ones with pearl appliqués. It’s kind of like the whole socks and sandals saga but a whole lot cooler. I mean, fishnets automatically make any outfit look 1000% cooler don’t they? When worn right, obviously. I’m talking layered with a whole load of denim and some biker boots to match.
