Hey guys! I hope you’ve all had the best christmas filled with food and family. Now we’re getting towards the new year I’m getting back into the swing of things with blog posts. I’m starting that off today with a post about the struggle of blogger’s block (because I suffer from that waayy more than I should). Not that this is a moany one, or even a ranty one, just a ‘can you believe I find it so hard to do something I love?’ one. Writing blog posts is the bane of my life, and yet I love doing it. I mean, four years and 6 months and I’m still going strong.
“So what’s the problem?”, I hear you ask. Well, four and a half years in and I can still never think of what to write. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes the words flow and those are the best times. Good times, positive vibes and all that. And it’s those times that give me the motivation to write more. Of course, I want my content to be good but if it ain’t happening, it ain’t happening. And that’s the struggle with writing. You literally cannot force it. Probably about 6 times out of 10 when I sit down to write a post, I end up walking away with a blank page. I’m guessing I press the delete button more than I press any of the letters on the keyboard on those days when no matter how many times you restart, you just cannot string two sentences together. Yes, those are the worst of times, but it’s usually for the best as I can come back the next day and write something I’m really proud of.
I guess subject matter is the root of the issue. I mean, is anyone really interested in me waffling on about today’s pair of Jamie jeans? Yet I always find myself wondering what else I can write about apart from my favourite Topshop jeans or how much I love my new coat. Let me know if those sorts of posts do interest you, and I’ll keep ’em coming. But if you’re looking for posts with more of a theme or a topic then you’re gonna have to help me out. What do you want to hear about? Drop me a comment below.
